Activities & Fine Arts

Village Prep will formalize arts and physical education programming starting in its second academic year.

At this time, art projects are incorporated into the literacy, math, science and social studies lessons. Students and teachers also use song, rhythm and chanting as transition activities between lessons.

Special extracurricular activities are incorporated into the school day throughout the year. For example, the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo visited with Village Prep kindergarteners and brought several interesting birds and small animals to share. In addition, Health on Wheels (from the Cleveland Museum of Natural History) visited Village Prep to allow students to learn about health through play.

Village Prep students also take field trips, and this year those include: Hillcrest Farm, Cleveland Children’s Museum, and Akron Aero’s Baseball Game. Jungle Jerry will also be visiting the school.
